I've been fiending this track for a while now (like since it came out in April) and thought it was about time I did a feature for it. There's something amazing about VÉRITÉ, I can't quite put my finger on it. Her sound is engaging and so appealing. A self-described bull, there's something fierce about her music that lends it to repeated listening and dancing. Seriously, it's good at the gym or out and about. I had managed to catch her set for Canadian Music Week here in Toronto, and boy was I happy I was there.

The first few bars feature a minimal rendition of the harmony over the beat. Doesn't it make you want to move? If you aren't already chair dancing in the first 10 seconds, I don't know what to say to you. As if it wasn't already good enough... BOOM, there's that great melody which dances over the synthy harmony. It's like the fudge on your ice cream sundae. I mean, really, there's just a lot of really great things happening at once. You know sometimes there's a track that takes a while to warm up? Not this one. It hooks you right from the start and keeps on giving. The little refrain section, for example, about two thirds of the way through the track which leads back to the final chorus is something else. Well timed, masterfully crafted, there's something magical about the build up back to the final chorus. It really showcases Kelsey's vocals. They're amazing, period (in all her tracks, really...). Her voice captures the intensity of the song's lyrics from start to end, adding another level of interest. Beyond the masterful artistic choices going on, there's great production as well, which supports and really elevates the song. The perverbial cherry on top.

Okay, I'm done gushing. If you couldn't tell, I adore this track and I think you'll really like it! She's currently across the pond, but you should definitely keep an eye for her upcoming shows.
